Fake Bomb Suspect Captured. What We Know
Suspect Cesar Sayoc was arrested in Broward County Florida. He will be facing multiple charges related to his fake bomb mail campaign to politicians and former President Barack Obama.
Sayoc had a criminal background involving terroristic threats, possession of a controlled substance, and theft, fraud, and others.
Sayoc was also reportedly kicked out of his parents' house and was living in his van, according to a CNN, citing a law enforcement official. A 2012 bankruptcy filing indicated that Sayoc "lives with his mom, owns no furniture." The filing listed assets of $4,175 and liabilities of $21,109.
In 1999, Sayoc was arrested in North Carolina on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, however the charges were dismissed according to CNN.
Sayoc was pictured at a President Trump rally suggesting the attacks may have been politically motivated, though authorities will prove the motive when the suspect receives due process.
