Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini’s security-and-migration decree received final approval last night.

The Lower House gave their approval and it was met with applause in the house. This legislation makes it easier for authorities to deport asylum seekers found guilty of felonies.

Under Salvini’s new decree, migrants who are caught stealing, dealing drugs or taking part in other anti-social or illegal behaviours will have their asylum applications immediately revoked.
