The November 6, 2018 midterm elections were a nail-biter for many Americans. The Democrat party secured the House of Representatives by gaining 28 seats. The majority in the lower house requires either party to have 218. Republicans earned two more Senate seats, securing a larger majority. The Senate will be critical for President Trump to continue appointing judges.

  • Texas District 7 flipped to Democrat. Incumbent Culberson lost to Fletcher by a four percent margin.

  • District 32 flipped to Democrat. Incumbent Rep. Sessions lost by six percent margin.

  • Senator Ted Cruz defended his senate seat with a 200,000 vote margin.

Other notable races

  • Florida maintained Republican control of the Governorship and Senate.
