Florida Senator Marco Rubio sounded the alarm today as Broward County, Florida “struggles” to count votes over 45 hours later.

Rubio via Twitter: “Florida law requires counties report early voting & vote-by-mail within 30 minutes after polls close. 43 hours after polls closed 2 Democrat strongholds Broward County & Palm Beach County are still counting & refusing to disclose how many ballots they have left to count.”

Broward County dropped more ballots onto the vote count, pushing Democratic nominee to agricultural commissioner Nicole Fried into the lead.

Senator Rubio later added via twitter, “According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, these two blue bins, circled in the attached picture, hold the ballots that remain to be counted in #BrowardCounty as of 4:20pm this afternoon. Almost 48 hours after the polls closed.”

Broward County famously was where the 2000 Presidential was contested. The case went all the way to court. At this time, Florida Governor has not made comment on the late reporting counties.
