Free Market Health Care In Houston Growing By The Day

Most are familiar with their co-payment and co-insurance charge, but do you know how much your caregiver charges the insurance? Few would know. Even more obscure are the costs at hospitals and urgent care centers.

Dr. Geetinder Goyal is one of many Houston-based health care revolutionaries separating their practice from the antiquated insurance industry. There is no middleman. “We are consumers of health insurance, not really health care. Nobody knows what health care costs, everybody knows what health insurance costs,” he explains.

First Primary Care, Dr. Goyal’s practice, follows a subscription based model of direct primary care. Users pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited access to their physician, and have direct communication anywhere through a HIPAA approved phone application.

Dr. Goyal, who was interviewed by The Houston Courant, explains how his practice is changing everything. Watch the full interview below.
